"Ochen Prostaja Istorija" or "A very simple story" is Maria Lado's modern drama hit from 2003.
The director, Jevgeni Ibragimov, has graduated the Moscow Theatre Academy as a puppet director and has won the Golden Mask Award four times.

The lighting design in this piece was a pleasure to make. Moving backlights for colours and lots of vertically focused PARcans. Plus some extra PC-s for pink and yellow. As an experiment, we used both stages of our ADB Phoenix lighting board, giving rapid changes between the animal and human world while the other stage had 20-minute fades from morning to evening and from action to action.

As I've heard, the guys at Puppet Theatre have given the piece some radical changes by replacing the backlights with 2K fresnels. I totally understand the pain of dragging movingheads to the third floor but it's a pity a theatre cannot solve such technical problems while downgrading the quality of design.
